Problems and challenges are a part of life. They are there to help us improve the way we deal with things.
I used to see challenges, and find a way of avoiding them for as long as possible, and only dealing with them when I had to. I could procrastinate for my country. Now I actively look for solutions to anything I want to deal with.
“I’ve not got the time to do that right now…”
“I’ll take a look tomorrow…”
“I’m too busy right now…”
These are the excuses I used to use all the while.
A couple of years ago I wouldn’t have done a lot of the things I do now. I didn’t like talking to people, and hugely anxious about doing something the right way. I think partially there were some dissenting voices, and my own inner monologue would follow suit.
I wouldn’t have done that photoshoot, because I was unsure that i would get the results I wanted, I wouldn’t try and build that box because if I messed it up, I thought I would look foolish. I would always think about how other people saw what I was doing.
It took a while, but keeping a positive mindset has got me to point where I’m doing what I want, the way I want it. I’m getting richer experiences, learning a ton, and I’m enjoying myself doing it.
I am doing a bigger post on some of the things I think about to keep me positive, and some of the steps I took to get there. For today though just take that one step outside your comfort zone and do something you want to do. Approach the problem in a different way, dip that oreo in your tea, make those plans for the weekend and get excited about it.
Find a Way, Not an Excuse….
Give me a comment, tell me what your doing today, how are you finding a way?
