Sometimes i just don’t find the time.
In between the day job and a few other things, i found a few hours at the weekend to prepare a few bits. Coming up to winter as well, a lot of the videos and blogs i will be creating will be indoor type things. Not because i hate the weather or nature, but more because lighting for a video is easier.
I have a huge amount lined up, a build video is in progress, along with a couple more advice/fun videos and blogs. Generally what I’ve been doing will arise from conversations I’ve had with friends or colleagues. Even down to conversations about dress codes. I work in a fairly liberal office, and as long as you have a collar and dark trousers, your golden. I have been known to rock up with a Hawaiian shirt every now and then though. Speaking to one of the younger lads, they mentioned clip on ties!
After choking on my tea for a few minutes, i realised it’s a skill, something that has to be learnt. Something that has to be shown. I do have a large collection of ties and know how to tie at least 6 different styles for different occasions. A video will be done at some point.
I know it’s a simple thing for some, but i admit it’s something i found fairly hard to explain without thinking about it, or having a tie on hand to show the process. But i digress…
This weekend i found a few hours to create a video intro using blender. I say created, but more followed a free template which will be credited in my videos. Did a couple of hours editing a show that i photographed last weekend. Still a lot more to do there.
This weekend should have been out shooting the Perseid meteor shower, but unfortunately the standard British weather put a dampener on that one. Only 1 year in 3 I’ve been able to shoot this. Here was last years effort. A composite of 4 hours worth of shooting. Caught a few in there, so fairly happy with that.
For the first time in a long while i did put my feet up for an hour or so, and took in a catch up episode of Dick Strawbridges ‘Escape to the Chateau’. Been a big fan since the Scrapheap Challenge days, and for anyone thinking of doing the french chateau thing, a lot of good advice in this program.
So other than slowly ticking off the list of stuff I’ve got to get done, it’s not been the most productive of weekends, but sometimes that’s the way it can go. Maybe someone was telling me i needed to step off the gas for a moment.
Anyway, if you want to drop me a comment, question, advice, anything please do.
